Chromatic Silence

East Hall · 12 Paintings

Amara Voss's most ambitious solo exhibition to date — twelve new paintings that explore the boundaries of colour perception. Working in layers of translucent glaze, Voss creates surfaces that hum quietly rather than shout: works that change as you walk past them, and again as the afternoon light fades.

The exhibition includes a new suite of small studies, never before shown, alongside the monumental Ember Field. A limited catalogue with essays by three art historians accompanies the show.

Figures of Light

West Hall & Sculpture Court · 34 Works

A major survey of postwar bronze and marble sculpture, reuniting works that have not shared a room for more than forty years. From Giacometti's attenuated figures to Chillida's forged iron, the exhibition traces how sculpture learned to hold light — and how light became a sculptural material in its own right.

Loans arrive from eleven public institutions and four private collections. The catalogue includes new scholarship on the conservation of patinated surfaces.
